Today I met the a very beautiful-hearted person. Most of you may or may not know that I drive for Lyft/Uber so I meat some interesting people every day. This in-particular person (female), was on her way to Dialysis as she is waiting for a kidney. She told me her story how she was over-weight and eating a lot of the common fried and greasy foods we are all so used to consuming.
Her situation got so bad that the Doctors told her if she did not lose the weight she is going to die. She immediately went home and began to clean out her refrigerator, removing all of the foods she knew she could no longer have (Processed and Packaged Foods). That evening she decided to go for a walk, which ended up being 5 miles. She kept this up as the weight practically fell off within a few months.
She was very knowledgeable about Dialysis and her kidney condition and what changes she needed to make. I explained the Plant Based Diet to her and how she may benefit from as least trying it for 10 days to see if it may help improve her kidney function.

The reason why this was such a beautiful story, was she had the most positive and humble attitude about her condition. No complaints, but just grateful to still be here fighting for her life to spend time with her grown children and grandchild. One of the things she said that stuck out to me was, she goes to the Dialysis Clinic each day and hears people complaining that they can’t do the work to change their situation. She encourages them to try and do something to change their situation.
This story hits home for me as I have a relative fighting for her life as well. Hopefully this will encourage her to keep fighting and take back her life.
Id like to say in closing that to that woman whom I talked to today, keep fighting, and encouraging others to fight also. So glad to have met you.
Be encouraged, as you encourage others…
