I often wondered before going Vegan/Plant Based, what was wrong with people not eating meat and dairy, as it is the staple foods here in the west. Now that I am on the other side of it, as well as reaping the benefits of this Plant Based Lifestyle. I can see why.
For those of you who don’t know my story, we lived on s small farm a few years ago. We had goats and meat/chickens and and hens for eggs. The farm life was good and I’d love to get back to it, but without the killing animal part.
Being on this side of the fence gives me another whole perspective about animals and caring for them. Back in the old days meat was not as prevalent as it is today. It was a once a week (if that) treat. Most of the time they lived off of the vegetation grown. Also, when meat was slaughtered, it was definitely not done the way it’s being done today. The factory farm, and even some smaller farms are abusing these animals simply because they can.
I saw this video of a cow really concerned about what the humans were going to do to her calf, which was in a cage being beaten by humans. (For whatever reason).
Where I stand as far as meat and dairy is concerned I choose not to participate in it for just health and now to consider the life an an animal as well. Will the entire human population go Vegan? More than likely not, but we can do our part, by increasing our fruit and vegetable intake and reducing our meat and dairy intake. You are not only saving the life of an animal when you do,but you are also saving your own life as well.
Be encouraged and until next time😀
